Tom is a graduate of Plattsburgh State University with a B.A. Degree in Sociology. He started his career in insurance and real estate sales before becoming an appraiser in 1987. He worked for a local appraisal firm for 5 years before starting Orr Appraisal Service in 1992.

Tom lives with his family in Queensbury. He and Sarah are the proud parents of a baby boy, Riley Wade Orr, who was born on April 11, 2001.

Tom's hobbies include many outdoor activities such as; hiking the Adirodack high peaks, fishing, hunting, golfing, and skiing. He is also involved in Tae Kwon Do earning his 1st degree black belt in 2000. He enjoys traveling with his family and they spend several weekends a year in New York city watching Broadway shows and taking in Yankee and/or Knicks games. In the summer you can find Tom on one of his Harleys riding through the Lake George region. He also enjoys driving his 1926 Model T, which he and his dad restored in 1990. He is a member of the local Free and Accepted Masons.
